MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS |
- THE SOUTHEAST REGION REQUIRES THAT UMPIRE-IN-CHIEFS AND CREW MEMBERS MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE YEARS EXPERIENCE OFFICIATING AT
THE BABE RUTH LEAGUE, INC. STATE TOURNAMENT LEVEL IN ORDER TO BE QUALIFIED. IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE CRITERIA DO NOT CONTINUE; YOU
WILL NOT BE APPROVED. *
- The Umpire Registration System is for the position of UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF (UIC). After review and selection of the UIC,
to the extent possible, he or she will be instructed to select crew members for the assigned tournament age group. If additional umpires are
needed ( NUA Members), they will be provided by the Host.
- The registration system for all umpires will remain open until the close of business (COB) May 15 @ 5:00PM ET. That gives umpires approximately
4-1/2 months to decide whether to apply for Southeast Regional tournament umpire assignment consideration.
- Applicants must be NUA members for at the time of registration.
- For the UIC assignment, the applicant must have a minimum of three UIC assignments at the Babe Ruth State level; you will be asked
to provide two references information for confirmation. When necessary, your application will be forwarded, in an
Under Review status, to the State Umpire Consultant for review and recommendations. (While in the Under Review status
your follow-up is with the State Umpire Consultant.)
- Be advised that Host league and local association umpires are not assigned as the UIC, but can be assigned as a crew member when approved by the
Southeast Regional Commissioner or designee.
- The applicant must select the age group that he or she wants to officiate. Multiple age groups require multiple applications. By selecting the age groups
and submitting this application, the applicant guarantees to accept the assignment made and travel if necessary. Here is a list of

- The applicant agrees to work games at the minimum compensation
for the age group approved.
- The applicant must have expectations of receiving a "Positive" endorsement by his or her State Commissioner when necessary.

NOTE: In all cases, and as a courtesy, registration data for "Assigned," "Not Assigned," and "Not Recommended" status registrations is not made
