Effective on January 1, 2018 all Babe Ruth leagues are required to use bats approved by USA Baseball. To find out which bats meet this requirement, and to learn more information about the changes, go to the USA Baseball website at http://usabat.com and click on the informational tabs.
Only 2-1/4" and 2-5/8" metal and composite bats that are stamped with the USABaseball "mark" will be allowed for use in the Cal Ripken Minor and Major age groups. T-Ball bats must be marked with the USABaseball "mark" with the following statement: "ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS." Check out the USABaseball "Stamp" program which will allow you to use older t-ball bats!
Babe Ruth 13-15 Baseball Division can use 2-5/8" metal bats with the USABaseball "mark" and composite bats with the BBCOR .50 "mark."
Babe Ruth 16-18 Baseball Division can use 2-5/8" metal bats with the USABaseball "mark" and composite bats with the BBCOR .50 "mark," but cannot have a weight to length ration greater than -3.
(Note: Softball bats must be marked marked as "Official Softball Bat" or "Official Fastpitch Bat.")
